Fruit Fiesta Revealed By Wazdan
Wazdan games have just come off a very impressive Sigma Games event in Malta where they stole the show with a Maltese inspired flash mob. They grabbed most industry insider’s attention with their innovative new Volatility Control feature in their next gen slots which could have far reaching implication for industry norms.
Their upcoming titles Los Meurtos, Mayan Ritual and Captain Flynt look set to live up to the legacy of Valhalla and Wild Guns. Their latest release is titled Fruit Fiesta and while it retains the great look and feel of Wazdan Games, it does not quite live up to the hype set by the Sigma Game expo.
A Missed Opportunity
While Fruit Fiesta does include the new volatility adjustment options it would have been nice to see Wazdan pack more bonus features in. The reel layout is pretty standard, but the play area is divided into a 5×3 grid with 20 paylines arranged across the reels. Players can look forward to a 200 000 coin jackpot prize in game.
The reel icons feature a collection of fruit, with all the male fruit having some very distinguished moustaches. While the graphics are definitely solid, you can’t help but feel that they could have had more character if they were simply animated traditionally. The backgrounds on the game are all animated so why Wazdan didn’t continue this feature to the reel icons themselves is not known.
The Extra Features
The bonus features of Fruit Fiesta include a scatter symbol, a wild symbol and a special pick me minigame. The pick me game is essentially a modified gamble feature however, so not a new experience by any means.
The red spicy chilli is the in game wild symbol. It will substitute for any of the standard reel symbols but of course not for the scatter icon. The scatter is a sheriff badge symbol and as long as you see three or more appear on the reels you will get a cash reward.
Finally we have the Gamble feature. This feature can be activated after any big win you land. You will stake the money you just won on a Piñata picking game. You must pick one of two piñata to reveal either double your stake or the booby prize, which is nothing.
While the lack of extra bonus game really hurts Fruit Fiesta when you compare it to many other Wazdan games, this is still a solid release and it is still very fun to play. It is available now at online operators that host Wazdan licensed games.
