Online operator Veikkaus has made a number of changes to its current executive team after a decline in revenue for Q2. The company hopes to use the new changes to pursue growth in the digital market.
The operator told reporters that the move will not see any personnel reductions, and that the changes are part of a much wider reform of the organisation and its operations. Nora Vahavirta will be taking on the role of chief operating officer, while Velipekka Nummikoski is promoted to executive vice president.
Ari Aarnihuhta has been named as senior vice president of sales and ICT, and Timo Kliskinen is taking on the role of senior vice president of business operations. Elsewhere, Pekka Limivalta has taken over as senior vice president of governance and legal affairs.
Veikkaus has also taken on two new members for senior roles in the company, which includes Jari Heino joining as senior vice president of channels and sales. Helo Lallukka is set to step down as country HR operations manager at IKEA, and will be taking on the role of senior vice president of HR for Veikkaus.
President and chief executive of the company, Olli Sarekoski, will be leading the new team of executives, and all managerial changes came into affect from the start of September. Sarekoski told reporters that they are currently preparing for changes in their operating environment, which is part of the reason for the many recent staff changes. He lastly added that they will be focussing on digital business in the future.
