Get Ready To Battle The Mighty Kaiju
Kaiju is a Japanese word that loosely translates to “Strange Beast”. It was a term most recently heard by western audiences in the Guillermo Del Toro film, Pacific Rim. Kaiju however is also a new slot released by Elk studios.
There are similarities that can be drawn between the film and the slot but you can’t go as far as to say that the slot is a rip off of the film’s theme. Facing The Beasts
The aim of Kaiju is to defeat these hideous beasts and the only way to do that is to confront them in the free spins game. The lead character, pilot HA-42 is the trigger symbols for this special feature. When this feature starts you will be taken to a new screen and reel set where you will face one of the three Kaiju, each one uglier than the next.
You battle the Kaiju beasts with your reels and your winning combinations which can fire powerful lasers at the Kaiju. During the bonus game you can expand your reels vertically if you can form a vertical winning combination that touches the tip of the reels.
When you do the reels will expand up and create another icon row at the top. There are also secret monster hotspots where your reels can all suddenly be turned into rows of wilds.
Finally the free game reels can also award you with Sticky Wilds. These wilds can form stacked on the reels, creating vertical rows of wilds that will remain in place for the duration of your remaining free spins.
Pre-programmed Betting Strategies
Elk Studios have included a very interesting Betting Strategy feature where you can pick one of 4 pre set betting strategies to automatically run while you are playing. This is a quite unique feature that can only be seen in a few other slot games.
The options included here are the Optimiser based on a percentage of your balance remaining, the Leveller which raises after any 5 consecutive losing spins. The Booster is also a raise loss strategy while the jumper raises on winning spins. Kaiju is an interesting and enjoyable slot but at the end of the day it promises more than it delivers. It is still a worthy play through though, especially with its high RTP and slick graphics.
