IGT, or International Game Technology, have partnered with William Hill US to start building on their existing relationship within the US market after entering a multi-year agreement that will offer lotteries a full service solution for sports betting.
The terms for the deal have not yet been specified, but the two operators will work together on all future US lottery bid requests, as well as sports betting opportunities. The offering will include IGT’s PlayShot sports betting platform, which covers online, retail, and mobile betting, and will be running in tandem with Hill’s trading, player management, and strategy expertise in sportsbooks.
PlayShot is currently operating in four states that have had sports betting regulated, while Hills is currently operational in sports wagering is legal: Nevada, Mississippi, Delaware, West Virginia, and New Jersey.
Both operators have been extremely active since the ruling of the Supreme Court on PASPA, which allowed a number of US states to begin offering legal and regulated sports wagering. Pennsylvania and Rhode Island are expected to be the next two that will legalise the market within the coming year. IGT and Hill have also been closing deals lately to expand their presence within the US. William Hill has entered a new partnership with Eldorado that could see them expand into 11 states, while IGT has been signing up with a number of operators across the country, such as FanDuel and MGM, both based in New Jersey.
