Lottery technology solutions provider Camelot Lottery Solutions has recently appointed David Kelly as its new chair, while their sister business Camelot UK has named Gill Whitehead as their new non-executive director.
Kelly will be taking on the position after having served as the non-executive director for Camelot UK Lotteries, which is the operator of the UK National Lottery, since 2015. Whitehead will be taking over the role left open by Kelly.
Before joining Camelot, Kelly held a number of senior positions with digital businesses across the industry, which included chief operating officer of eBay Inc., along with operations director at Amazon. Kelly is also the chairman of online insurance broker Simply Business and holiday retailer On The Beach, and works as the non-executive director of newspaper group Reach Pic, The Gym Group and Holiday Extras.
Talking about his new role, Kelly told reporters that he proud to be part of a company with a strong heritage in building global lotteries based on modern digital solutions, such as data, mobile, and cloud. He added that he is looking forward to working with the management and board teams to continue to driving responsible lottery growth while also engaging players and increasing benefits returned to communities. Wayne Pick, who is the chief executive of Camelot Lottery Solutions, stated that David has a pedigree in leading technology and Internet businesses, and that his expertise will be important in guiding the successes of Camelot Lottery Solutions in the future.
