Online gaming content provide Yggdrasil Gaming, which is owned by Cherry, has confirmed the appointment of industry veteran Björn Krantz to take lead of its brand new publishing business. Krantz will be joining the company as the head of publishing next year in January, after he left his most recent position as chief operating officer in September after having spent more than 10 year with the slots specialists.
The new publishing arm has been launched as the supplier focuses on becoming a content enabler for partners around the world, which includes suppliers, studios, and operators. Through the new division, customers will be given the chance to licence any of all elements of Yggdrasil content from its current and future portfolios, as well as its affiliation tools, platform technology, gamification, and Game Development Kit.
Fredrik Elmqvist, chief executive officer of the provider, said that even since he and Björn had discussed their initial plans for their new model and future growth expectation, he believed that Björn would be the right person for the position, and would lead the publishing division to success. He added that they spent many months planning the new strategy and basing it on solid foundations that they had built up over many years, and that they added several highly innovative layers that they hope will see the business grow in the future. Krantz told reporters that he is delighted to have received the trust from the company to manage the new division.
