Exciting New Deals In The Industry

There have been three major deals inked this week between indie developers and major industry players.

The gaming market is always shifting and evolving and it seems that Microgaming, Scientific Games and NetEnt are dead set in keeping their dominance of the online casino space.

Scientific Games Buy Tech Art Inc

Global software developer Scientific Games have purchased the Las Vegas based Blackjack gaming specialists, Tech Art Inc. This company developed the MAXTime device used at land-based casinos to ensure more dealer security. They have also developed Blackjack games called Super Fun 21 and Bet the Bust.

Scientific Games already have a number of land based casino game patents to their name, this purchase will be another feather in their cap, consolidating their reach and influence in the industry. The company has already stated that they are planning to market the upgraded MAXTime product on an international level, making full use of Scientific Game’s massive distribution network.

This latest acquisition follows on the news last month that Scientific Games will be purchasing NYX Gaming group for $631 million.

Microgaming Partners With Lightning Box

Lightning Box Games have announced a content deal that they have signed with Microgaming. Original Lightning Box content will be made available to Microgaming casinos from February of next year.

This is a massive win for Microgaming as Lightning Box produces some of the most original and entertaining casino gaming content around which will only add to the already excellent game library.

Lightning Box CEO Peter Causley stated that with Microgaming and their Quickfire gaming platform, the company will now have access to over 200 online gaming operators.

NetEnt Inks Deal With Caliente Betting Group

NetEnt has added to their expansion plans in South America by signing a second content deal in Mexico. NetEnt will be providing gaming content for Caliente, the largest online betting site in the country.

Caliente currently offers their members Playtech software, but this new deal will greatly expand their range. Caliente CEO Emilio Hank said that they are very much looking forward to working with NetEnt. He believes the deal will further solidify the lead Caliente has in the gaming industry in Mexico, offering their members unparalleled gaming action.

This is a great move for NetEnt to be able to get into this relatively new gaming market. Online gaming is well regulated in Mexico but it is legal and flourishing.
