Gateway Casino To Relocate To Delta

Canada will soon be seeing a relocation of one of its biggest casinos, the Gateway. The venue will be moving to Delta where it is set to be situated at the current Delta Town and Country Inn.

This beautiful venue, near the Highway 99 and 17A intersections will make a great location for Gateway’s new development. At the moment the company is still awaiting final approval from the BC Lottery Corporation but there should not be any hitches in the planned project.

The Perfect Location For Business And Tourism

The BC Lottery Corporation released a statement that the new location for the Gateway casino was chosen for a reason. The future venue would by perfectly located to work with the current Delta tourism plan. The town hopes to boost its tourism numbers and the Gateway casino will make a great attraction. The site will be ideally situated near busy highways allowing for easy access by locals and tourists alike without causing any noise or parking issues for residential neighbourhoods.

Another reason for the choice of location is to prevent the Gateway from having to compete with casinos in surrounding areas. The BC Lottery Corporation is very aware that competition amongst casinos is not a good thing. Delta is surrounded by Casino towns with gambling facilities located in nearby Surrey, Richmond and also New Westminster. The Delta Town and Country Inn is located in the perfect zone to be able to benefit from its own customer base, rather than drawing in players from other towns and casinos.

A Win For The Town

The new casino is set to have more than 700 staff and generated up to $50 million in annual returns. The Delta government will receive 10% of the overall revenue which will provide some much needed funds for the city.

Gateway are currently finalising their casino proposal along with the actual design and layout of the venue. Once this is approved by the BC Lottery Corporation, it will be sent to the Delta City Council where it will receive final approval. Gateway already owns a few successful casino venues. They have facilities all over Western Canada and the new Delta City site could turn into one of their most profitable ventures.

Delta was one of the few towns that actually approached the BC Lottery Corporation about the potential of getting a casino venue as they clearly know how profitable and invigorating a casino can be to the surrounding community.
