Online gaming supplier and operator Global Gaming is currently seeking a new auditor after KPMG requested an early termination of its assignment with Ninja Casino. Tobias Fagerlund, the chief executive for the operator, stated that the request came as a surprise to them, and noted that the auditing work that had been carried out in the last year had not given rise to any noticeable issues.
Fagerlund also noted that Swedish regulator Spelinspektionen’s decision to revoke their operating licence in the country would have raised a number of concerns and questions, but also added that he believed that the operator would prevail in its on going appeal against the decision. Talking about the news, Fagerlund also staid that it was their conviction that the case will show that the Gambling Authority’s decision was disproportionate and incorrect, and that it was unfortunate that their decisions have side effects of this type.
The operator will now start the process of locating a new auditor, and have called an extraordinary general meeting with the hope of selecting a new company as soon as they possibly can. Global Gaming’s Swedish licence was taken away after the regulator identified a number of failings in its player protection and anti-laundering controls. The operator has contended that it had been working to address these problems, and that the punishment given out by the regulator was too strict, and couldn’t be reasonably justified. Despite this, the operator has failed to have the revocation suspended as of yet.
