Mobile games developer and supplier Gaming Realms has announced that experienced industry executive Chris Ash will be joining its board as a non-executive director. Ash has been involved in the gaming sector for more than 29 years, and will be taking on his new position with Gaming Realms with immediate effect.
Ash is arguably best known for creating gaming content develop Ash Gaming, which he ultimately sold to Playtech for a total of $29.2 million in December of 2011. After the sale, Ash moved to the role of head of solutions for the giant’s open platform division, where he ran the content aggregation business with 25 different partner studios, and had a hand in with M&A.
Ash stayed in this position until March of 2015, and left to found the Ash Capital corporate advisory business. Recently, he had invested in and advised Stashbee and BlueRibbon Software.
Talking about the new role, Gaming Realms’ non-executive chairman Michael Buckley told reporters that they are delighted that Chris has agreed to take a role in the company, and that his significant experience in content development and global licensing aligns with their strategies to start scaling their licensing businesses in the future. Gaming Realms has also confirmed that Ash currently holds 1,965,680 ordinary shares of the company, which are priced at ten pence each. His experience and investment in the company no doubt played a large role in why Gaming Realms hired the new non-executive.
