Paddy Power Betfair has announced plans to solve business challenges through the launch of their new gambling initiative in Romania.
The initiative, which has been developed in partnership with Cluj-based trade event Techsylvania, and investment fund Risky Business, will see a number of innovators focussing on dealing with the many challenges involved with responsible gambling.
Part of this will include support for the development of a series of prototype products that will consist of customer matching, data and analytics, identity verifications, travel services, and a range of retail tools.
Those that decide to sign up for the new plan will be given access to partnerships, corporate clients, and expertise to help them improve their offerings. Alpha Hub head Rob Smith has explained that the Responsible Gambling concept is one of their top priorities at the moment, and they hope the initiative will help them find new ways to find and protect customers that may be at risk of getting involved in problem gambling.
He also said that Alpha Hub has provided the opportunity for Paddy Power Betfair to get closer to the tech start-up environment, and that they are currently looking for new start-ups that may be able to solve some of their business challenges.
The operator, which now has a team of over 600 people in its Romanian office, is expecting to launch Alpha Hub sometime in late November, which will be followed up with a two-week period where support and mentoring will be offered.
