Publicwin has announced their disdain against Romania’s national gambling regulator not long after the operator had its gaming licence suspended.
The Oficiul National Pentru Jocuri de Noroc (ONJN) recently barred both Sea-bet and Bet Club Sistem SRL, owners of the online operator Publicwin, from operating in the country. The company first secured their online licence in August of last year, and they also hold a 10-year fixed odds licence. Despite this, an online licence expired earlier in July this year, according to reporters.
Publicwin’s suspension forbids them from signing up any new customers or taking out bets from their current player-base, but the firm is being allowed to pay out any withdrawal requests. The ruling applies only to certain aspects of their operation as the ONJN has stated that they operator can continue to run its retail venues.
The suspensions were both issued on the 18th of September, but only came into effective toward the end of the month. Publicwin has since published a public message to their Romanian-facing website that states the barring will only run for around 30 days, and they went on to accuse the ONJN of being unlawful by taking such strong action against them and other operators within the nation.
In their statement, Publicwin said that they can assure their clients and collaborators that the decision does not reflected the actual situation regarding their activities, and that they maintain that all business they conduct has complied with legal provisions.
