Racing Post has recently announced the completion of the acquisition of ICS Media Group. The acquisition is part of a deal that the operator hopes will boost its revenue, while enhancing both their service offerings and support. Based within Leeds, England, the content provider and digital marketing agency ICS works closely with bookmakers all over the world, as well as radio stations and mobile networks.
Racing Post explained that the purchase will also help them diversify beyond racing, and have laid out plans to make use of UCS’s international content and marketing expertise. The four directors of ICS, Cheryl Westerman, Charlotte Green, Matt Roche, and Ian Holding, will continue to run the company on a day-to-day basis for the foreseeable future.
The partnership, which comes after Racing Post bought the majority stake in the sports betting and mobile app company Apsley Group International, has also created a new partnership with Orenes Group, which is based in Spain.
Alan Byrne, chief executive and editor-in-chief at Racing Post, told reporters that the company has identified many advantages that ICS will bring to their business model, and they have long admired the work that ICS has done in the past. Byrne explained that the purchase of ICS, as well as the Apsley Group is part of their plan to expanding the number of services that they offer to their customers.
Byrne lasted added that Racing Post is open to more M&A activity in the future, and are busy looking at further options.
