Young Gamblers Education Trust, an independent United Kingdom registered charity, has recently received a 12000 Pound donation from PlayItForward, a charity program run by casino software developer giant Microgaming.
The donated money is being used to grow the YGAM’s education program, which focuses on helping individuals learn about social gambling, and the more harmful effects that comes with gambling too much. The donation will also be used in the existing Train the Trainer workshop, which is based on the Isle of Man.
YGAM has set up workshops of similar fashion across the world, such as in countries like Malta, Gibraltar, and the Netherlands in a bid to extend their goal of teaching more people about the downfalls of gambling addiction.
Kimberly Broad, the Head of Compliance for Microgaming, has said that it’s hugely important to promote responsible gambling, and with providing local communities with support for gambling problems. She’s has since explained, “We have been very impressed with the charity’s success on building a programme that focuses on increasing awareness and resilience against gambling-related harm and we look forward to supporting them in delivering the vital training workshops on the island.”
Chief Executive of YGAM, Lee Willows, has said that both the charity and Microgaming have been keen to work together in coming months. She’s been reported as saying that the project, “provides a perfect opportunity to take our education programmes to the Isle of Man, whilst at the same time work with Microgaming to deliver our accredited and authentic training.”
